1. 12 June - Blessed Fr. J. Jankowski and Fr. J. Stanek

in the Church of SS. Salvatore in Onda, the Spiritual Centre of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, we have placed the images of our first two Pallottine martyrs, Blessed Fr. J. Jankowski and Fr. J. Stanek. The two oil paintings, a gift from the Province of the "Annunciation of the Lord" were placed, one on the right and the other on the left of the Cenacle picture portraying the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Virgin Mary and the Apostles. We believe that the power of Pallottine charism has led two of our confreres to give themselves fully, including their very lives, to the Lord and the neighbours. Both of them can be truly considered apostles for today and are examples to follow for all members of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate, priests, brothers, sisters and lay people.

2. 150° anniversario della morte della Venerabile Elisabetta Sanna

L’anno giubilare in occasione del 150° anniversario della morte della Venerabile Elisabetta Sanna, iniziato il 23 aprile 2006, serve per approfondire la sua conoscenza e per intensificare le preghiere per la sua beatificazione. In Roma il 17 di ogni mese, viene celebrata la Santa Messa con la viva partecipazione degli amici della Venerabile e il 17 febbraio prossimo si svolgerà la commemorazione centrale, presieduta dall’Arcivescovo di Sassari, Mons. Paolo Atzei OFMConv. A questa celebrazione parteciperà anche il coro sardo, chiamato “Coro Codrongianus”. In Sardegna un gruppo dei devoti di Elisabetta ha recitato nella sua casa a Codrongianos il santo Rosario ogni giorno nei mesi maggio e ottobre, come anche il 17 di ogni mese. Il 12 gennaio scorso si è svolto a Sassari un Convegno a 150 anni dalla morte, con la partecipazione dell’Arcivescovo di Sassari Mons. Paolo Atzei, due relatori - professori universitari, Mons. Antonio Francesco Spada e Michele Pinna, e con l’intervento del postulatore della Causa di Beatificazione don Jan Korycki SAC.  Insieme hanno partecipato a questo convegno circa 280 persone. Sono programmati altri due convegni con nuovi relatori: a Ploaghe il 24.02.2007 e nella Basilica di Saccargia il 19,05,2007. Tutte queste celebrazioni vengono organizzate dal Comitato per la Beatificazione della Venerabile Elisabetta, di cui presidente è l’avvocato Gianfranco Casu.

4. 151st anniversary of the death of Ven. E. Sanna

On last 17 February, the 151st anniversary of the death of Venerable Elisabeth Sanna, was celebrated in the church SS. Salvatore in Onda in Rome. The intention of the Eucharistic celebration was to pray for the beatification of this Servant of God. The Celebration was presided over by Fr. Gaetano Ianni SAC, President of the National Coordination Council of the UAC in Italy. At the end of the Mass, Mr Angelo Montonati, famous journalist and author of the booklet titled «Elisabeth Sanna The Saint from Sardegna who conquered the hearts of the Romans", gave a very interesting talk on the life and spirituality of Elisabeth. At the end, having encouraged those who were present to pray for the grace of beatification of Elizabeth, he concluded the message in these words: "There is no painful situation which, with the help of God, cannot be used for the good of our soul; there is no mistake, however grave it may be, that cannot be remedied with the help of God, transforming them even to occasions of authentic conversion. We can therefore leave this church with the certainty of having two holy saints, one is already canonised - St.Vincent Pallotti - and the other is on the way to sainthood. They remain models for us, pray for us and help us in our arduous journey of faith".

5. 25 Years of the Presence of the Pallottine Sisters in India

The 25 Years of the Presence of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate in India was solemnly celebrated on 19 November 2009, at Cochin, in the presence of the Bishop of Cochin, Rt. Rev.Dr. Joseph Kariyil, the Superior General of the same Congregation, Sr. Serena Cambiaghi and the entire General Council, Sr. Stella Holisz, the Superior General of the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate, numerous Provincial Superiors of the Pallottine Entities, priests, religious and friends. The Rector General of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate was represented by Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, General Consultor. The Indian Community of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate has grown remarkably during this past 25 years with about 130 sisters and numerous candidates in formation.

6. 25 years of priesthood of Fr Gilberto Orsolin

On November 24th 2011, the General House experienced a day of special thanksgiving for the 25 years of priesthood of our confrere, Fr Gilberto Orsolin, General Consultor and Rector of the General House. All the community and many friends of Fr Gilberto gathered in front of the altar of the Founder for Mass. The Rector General took his theme for his homily from the readings (Caritas Christi Urget Nos- The Son of Man came to serve) and from the theme of the General Assembly of the General superiors on New Evangelisation. At the end of the Eucharistic liturgy, the jubilarian thanked all for the gifts of life, of being a Pallottine and of priesthood. The festivities continued in the dining room where there were many speeches and all ate a good dinner. Gilberto

7. 27th General Assembly of the Union of the Superior Generals

The 27th General Assembly of the Union of the Superior Generals (USG) took place in Rome from 25-27 November 2009. Our Society was represented by Rector General, Fr. F. Kretz and General Consultor, Fr. G. Orsolin. The central theme of the meeting was “Justice and Culture, Way to the Future and for Consecrated Life”, considered particularly in the context of the African Continent. The speakers - the majority of them had participated in the last Synod of Bishops dedicated to Africa - spoke about the African reality and the challenges of the missions in this young and demanding Continent. A collection of the best conferences, given their relevance for the theme of our next General Assembly on Africa and for the growth of our missions in this Continent, will be sent to all the Major Superiors.

8. 50th of priesthood of Fr. K. Mirke and Fr. Korycki

The 6 May 2009 was a joyful day for the whole Pallottine Community at the Generalate as two of our confreres: Fr. Jan Korycki and Fr. Konrad Mirke celebrated the 50th anniversary of their ordination. The main part of the celebration was the Eucharist, concelebrated by the two confreres and presided over by Archbishop Szczepan Wesoly. There were many guests, friends, confreres and sisters of the Pallottine Family. We all gathered in prayer, thanking Jesus, the Apostle of the Eternal Father, for the witness, perseverance and priestly commitment of Fr. J. Korycki and Fr. K. Mirke who continue serving the Church through the gifts received from God. After the solemn Mass all participants were invited for an agape by the Community of the Generalate at our Hotel Ponte Sisto.

9. 50th Anniversary of the Canonisation of St. V. Pallotti

The celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Canonisation of St. Vincent Pallotti will begin on January 20 2012 and finish on January 20 2013. The Committee "Pallottine Family Celebrates" has developed a programme of initiatives for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Canonisation which were approved during the meeting of the three Superiors General of the Core Communities on October 8 last. As a starting point for its work, the Committee took the numerous suggestions submitted from many places, the majority being achievable within the time agreed for the celebrations and during 2013. "Holiness" in St. Vincent Pallotti was chosen as a general theme for the year in order to enter more deeply into his spiritual experience. For this reason, the whole life of the Union should converge towards this 'tempo forte', this 'special time of grace', and the initiatives which will take place will be the instrument through which this spiritual and apostolic renewal can be achieved in order that we may be faithful to the charism which Saint Vincent left us. The celebrations in Rome will take place during the Triduum of preparation for the feast of St. Vincent Pallotti. The Eucharistic celebrations will take place, according to the following calendar, in different churches which are significant to the history and identity of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, in order to bring Saint Vincent back into the heart of the Roman Church: January 19 in S. Carlo ai Catinari. January 20 in S. Lorenzo in Damaso. January 21 in S. Maria in Vallicella (Chiesa Nuova). January 22 in SS. Salvatore in Onda. FURTHER INFORMATION
