Official Visitation to the Holy Family Region (SF) |
The First Consultor, Fr. Adam Golec, and the Procurator General, Fr. Vitaliy Gorbatykh, carried out the Official Visitation to the Holy Family Region (SF) in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo from February 1st to 10th. The Visitation was well-prepared from both the practical and spiritual points of view. The Visitators were able to meet ten Local Communities and around 40 confreres. The situation in the two countries is very diverse. While, at present, Rwanda is experiencing industrial and economic growth, the Dem. Rep. of Congo is tormented by internal conflicts and threats of war. In Rwanda, however, it is clear that the political climate sometimes limits apostolate. The areas of apostolate engaged in by the confreres of the "Holy Family" Region (SF) can be subdivided into two: the ordinary, which take place within the parish and then particular ones which are carried out in the various shrines (Our Lady of Kibeho; the Merciful Jesus in Ruhango etc.) or in the important help which the Pallottines offer to the Local Church with the printing house Pallotti Press. The growing number of vocations bodes well for the future of the Pallottine community in these countries. PHOTO

Official Visitation in Tanazania and Kenya (IR.TZ) |
From January 31st- February 16th 2012, the General Consultors, Fr Francois Harelimana and Fr Gilberto Orsolin completed the Official Visitation of the Delegature of 'the Mother of Divine Love' Province in Tanzania/Kenya (IR.TZ). The Consultors were able to meet and speak personally with all thirty confreres present in that area. They visited ten Parishes under their pastoral care, where various members of the UAC collaborate; the Postulancy at Galappo, Tanzania where nine postulants live. They went to the philosophy house at Arusha, Tanzania with eleven students and the common Theologate in Nairobi, Kenya where there are eleven brothers in collaboration with the Holy Family Region (SF) and the Province of Christ the King (WA) in Ivory Coast. The two Consultors are thankful to all for their hospitality and for the hope they saw in our confreres for our future and for the development of our presence in Tanzania and Kenya. PHOTO

Official Visitation of the St. Joseph Delegature (CJ.SA) |
Fr. Martin Manus, General Consultor and Fr Markus Reck, General Secretary were on Official Visitation of the St. Joseph Delegature of the Heart of Jesus Province (CJ.SA) from 29th January to February 16th, 2012. They travelled, for the first time, the vast country of South Africa from the east to the west. They carried out the first stage at Merrivale, near to Pietermaritzburg, where the seminary for philosophy and theology is situated. Four Pallottine Formators coming from South Africa, Cameroon, Malawi and Brazil take care of thirty students from more than five English speaking African countries. The celebration of temporary profession for 28 students' was a joyous highpoint. During the second stage of their journey, they stopped in Queenstown and in Pallotti Farm outside the city where the first Pallottine missionaries established the Catholic Church in a very poor area. Pallotti Farm remains today as a popular spiritual centre and is the location of the Postulancy. The third stage of the journey was to Step-Aside/ George where the Preparatory period occurs. Presently there are six novices together with three Pallottine confreres. The last stage was to Cape Town where the presence of the confrere's of the St Joseph's Delegature decreases, but the Pallottine presence is guaranteed by three Indian confreres from the Province of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Bangalore) and of the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate. The strong commitment of our confreres demonstrates that the mission and the charism of St Vincent Pallotti are always actualised and can give new impulses of collaboration for the African Church in this jubilee year and in the future.
